The student will explain how the contributions of ancient China has influenced the present world in terms of architecture, inventions, the calendar, and written language. The student will develop map skills by locating China on world maps; understanding the relationship between the environment and the culture of ancient China.

– Ancient means long, long ago
– Architecture is the design of buildings
– A contribution is the act of giving or doing something
– Climate is the kind of weather an area has over a long period of time
– Land is the solid surface of the Earth
– Chinese inventions include: fireworks, silk cloth, compass, fireworks
– The Great Wall of China is a major form of Chinese architecture.
